Hello Fashionistas! I go by the name of Kady Saesere, or “Katy” from mean girls, kidding. All jokes aside, I am an aspiring Certified Makeup Artist and Graphic Designer. I love anything and everything that has to do with art and making people look and feel beautiful. I know this isn’t a fashion post, but I can give you all some insight and tips with makeup and some beauty references.
I am very thrilled to be a guest for Miss Fashionista Victoria’s blog; I know this means a lot to her. I met Victoria way back in middle school. We went to Lindbergh High school together and took some of the same classes. We took Visual Communication, Art, and Marketing. We went from creating posters for school dances, to designing Fake Chanel TShirts and Chicago Bulls crew necks, then modeled and did a photoshoot with it. We exchange tips, inspiration, and constructive criticism when we need it the most. All honesty, Victoria has been my creative partner in crime since day one.
Ever since I could remember, I’ve always had an interest in makeup. I was that girl that was constantly on YouTube looking for the best tutorials and spending hours on my make up trying to get the perfect winged eyeliner. I was that friend that would “cake face” everyone’s make up before parties and I loved it, more importantly they loved it. I took the opportunity to attend MAC affiliated Evergreen Beauty College to chase after my long lived dream. It was a great experience. However, I found that making a career after it just wasn’t for me, but to do makeup for fun as a hobby.
I would love to share some tips and secrets with you all! To start off, my favorite go-to product is GEL EYELINER!! Girl, this will take you places and beyond. She will stay with you when you’re in tears, or when your significant other leaves you (You didn’t need them anyways). A great tip to make that perfect cat wing with your liner is to use an angle stiff eyeliner brush. My favorite or go-to is the MAC 266 Small angle brush.
I want to point out depending on your eye color, which color eye shadow will compliment and bring out your eyes. If you have blue eyes, you want to use warm browns, copper and bronze tones. Green or hazel eyes, you would look amazing in rosy and purple tones. For brown eyes, everything and anything will go with your eye color. Lucky you!
Last but not least, my holy grail would have to be THE BEAUTY BLENDER! YASS. This sponge is literally everything. You can literally apply your face to heavens and back with this. Okay maybe not, but you see my point, I love this sponge (Specifically the beauty blender). A little tip if you don’t know, soak your beauty blender in water and squeeze all the water out. You want the sponge damped, not dripping in water. Then before you apply your foundation, use a couple drops of Argan oil, my favorite is Josie Maran. Then simply apply your foundation! After you’re finished, don’t forget to set your face with a translucent powder and WHOA THERE! You have a face of a goddess. ;)
That is all the tips I have for now. Thank you for taking your time and reading this blog entry. I literally spent a whole day at work typing this up. Ha it was a lot of fun. Huge thanks to my girl Victoria Srey. I truly think she’s amazing and a huge inspiration to all. Now everyone get to beating your face with that makeup brush.
